Hello, the physical units are identical. The difference is the configuration within the unit. Both configurations moderate vs heavy there are 2 prefilters: 1 standard prefilter and 1 MERVE 8 prefilter. The difference is the next set of filters.
Moderate has the following filters:
1. Medical Grade HEPA filter (qty 2)
2. Inside of the HEPA, a 7 lb carbon canister is placed within the unit (qty 2). These 7 lb carbon canister have a number of different options if a client wishes to alter the design even more. Just contact us at contactus@usairpurifiers.com or 88-231-1463 ext 1 to discuss your specific needs.
We refer to this as high particulate filtration since there is a high-quality HEPA, and moderate VOC adsorption.
Heavy has the following filters:
1. 30 lb carbon canister (qty 2)
If a client wants even more VOC protection, this configuration will actually allow a client to use the 7 lb carbon inserts also.
This is low particulate filtration since the HEPAs are removed, and it only has the MERVE 8 and prefilter filters in the unit's snout. However, it is HEAVY VOC protection since it has 2 x 30 lb carbon canister.
